Evangelism
Everyone is invited to join Dave Halla on Sunday mornings at 9:00am for the Way of the Master personal
evangelism class. We are currently in the second series in a course that teaches Christians the basic needs of
evangelism and instructs them how to 'ease' into witnessing, and finally how to share the gospel in any situation.
The class is made up of some lecture, class participation, and DVD instruction by Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron.
They demonstrate first hand how to meet anyone in public and present concepts of repentance, faith, forgiveness
and victory through salvation. It truly is an encouragement to any Christian who might not know how to witness,
or may just feel uncomfortable doing it. We all need to share the gospel.
The Ministry of Evangelism at First Baptist Church
“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as
pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of
the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12
To equip the saints to share the gospel is of the highest priority and as such, classes are constantly
being held to facilitate this.

Two Ways To Live (7 week series)
Along with instruction we give participants the opportunity to share the gospel in different settings.
A number of times a year we have booths or go to different festivals, such as The Ripon Almond
Festival, The Manteca Craft Fair, 4th of July, The Manteca Pumpkin Festival, and the October Bible
Land held at the Church.
We also bring in a variety of teachers to teach on various topics including Islam and Christianity,
and various cults and their deceptions from the Watchman Fellowship.
Learning how to share the gospel and defend the gospel, so that we will “always be ready to make
a defense to everyone who asks you to give and account for the hope that is in you, yet with
gentleness and reverence.” I Peter 3:15

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And, lo, I am with you
always....even unto the end of the world. Amen Matthew 28:19-20
First Baptist Church places a high importance on evangelism. The above statement, from the book of Matthew, was the
last statement of Christ spoken to the Apostles before leaving our earth. It was a directive that ensures the propagation of
the "good news" of Christ. The good news is the gospel of the bible, that if accepted, promises not only eternal life, but
equips the receiver with fruits that ensure strength, understanding and wisdom in all points of life that most discover cannot
be attained through any form of religion or spirituality. It is a one-of-a-kind experience from the God who does not break
His promises.
Our members are taught and encouraged to exercise personal evangelism on a day-to-day basis instead of relying on a
church 'soul-winning' program. Christians (those who are born again) should experience a burden for those who don't know
of the gift that Jesus has so unselfishly given. Christians have nothing to gain personally by winning another to the
understanding of salvation through the acceptance of Christ, except knowing that another person is no longer separated
from Christ and the fruits that exist in an active Christian walk. The bible says that all who are born again become His
children, and are as heirs. We also become joint-heirs in Christ, and through all this God can reveal Himself to us in a very
personal and real way that will never cease to demonstrate His love, truth, wisdom, and will NEVER be boring or lack luster.
